Four Founders. Three Countries. One First Meeting. Here's What We Talked About.
by The Founding Team of KOVA,
Building a company is hard.
Building one across three countries, mostly over calls and messages, with people you've never met in person, that's a different kind of hard.
Today, for the first time, the four of us sat down together in Tirana, Albania. Agron and Kaltrin came from North Macedonia. Ermal flew in from the US. Valdrin made the trip from Germany. Same table. Same room. No screens between us.
And it was about time.
How It Actually Felt
There's an honesty that comes with being in the same room that you just can't replicate remotely. You can't hide behind a muted mic or a delayed response. When someone says something you disagree with, it shows. When someone says something that clicks, the energy shifts immediately.
We felt both of those things today.
We talked about where KOVA is, where it's going, and, more importantly, how we get there. Not the polished version of that conversation. The real one. The kind where you put everything on the table, including the uncomfortable parts, the gaps, the things that haven't been working, and the hard decisions that still need to be made.
Because at the end of the day, this is a real business. Not a passion project. Not a side experiment. A real company with real clients, real responsibilities, and real pressure to deliver. And that means the conversations have to be real too.
What We Actually Talked About
We shared our individual views on how to move forward. Openly. Directly. Sometimes with friction, and that's okay. Friction between people who care about the same outcome isn't a problem. It's how good decisions get made.
We talked about the direction of the business. What's working and what isn't. Where we need to double down and where we've been spreading too thin.
We got honest about where we're stuck, the bottlenecks that slow us down, the processes that need tightening, and the areas where we've been moving without enough clarity or focus.
We talked about positioning. How KOVA is perceived versus how we want it to be perceived, and what it takes to close that gap. We talked about our Go-To-Market approach, where to focus our energy, which clients we're best positioned to serve right now, and how to build a pipeline that actually converts instead of just staying busy.
We talked about operations. How to improve the way we work internally so that what we deliver externally is consistently strong. Structure, accountability, communication, the unglamorous stuff that determines whether a company actually scales or just stays in motion without going anywhere.
And we talked about the team. Not just who we have, but who we need. What roles matter most at this stage and how to prioritize growth in a way that's sustainable, not reactive.
The surprising part? Underneath all of it, the core mindset was the same.
Four people from three different countries, different backgrounds, different roles, and when you strip it back, we see KOVA the same way. That kind of alignment isn't something you can manufacture.
It either exists or it doesn't.
Turns out it does. And that matters more than almost anything else at this stage.
Why Today Was Important
Remote work is real. We believe in it, we build teams around it, and we practice what we preach. But today was a reminder that some conversations need to happen in person.
The clarity we walked away with didn't come from a shared doc or a structured agenda. It came from being in the same room, being honest with each other, and having the kind of discussion that only happens when everyone's fully present.
We left aligned. Not because we agreed on everything, but because we were honest about everything. And that's a much stronger foundation.
What's Next
We're not going to make promises we can't keep or announcements that don't mean anything yet.
What we will say is this: we walked into that room with questions, and we walked out with answers. Not all of them, but enough to move forward with clarity and without second-guessing each other.
The next chapter of KOVA is less about figuring out what we are and more about executing on what we've already decided.
Sharper focus. Better processes. Stronger delivery.
And a team that's fully aligned on what it's going to take to get there.
No shortcuts. No fluff. Just the work.
